My sister called me one night to tell me she was having a baby. A baby! I immediately started planning my knitting TO-DO list.

Yarn Bomb that Bridge

My typical jaunt from Ohio to New Jersey goes a little something like this…

Highway..Highway…Sheetz!…Highway…Highway…sheetz!…Highway…Highway…Highway…home.

This time I decided to switch it up. There was some yarn graffiti that had my name all over it.

Yarn dying at home!

I got home from a long office day and decided that I needed to do something hands-on and creative. My computer legs were tired of sitting.

I took one long look at my yarn stash and finally decided I would attempt to dye my own yarn.

I originally wanted to wait until I had the perfect project in mind but tonight was all about experimentation.

Homeward bound – just for the weekend

lake_01_featured

This past weekend was my dad’s birthday and he retired! He spent many years working way too hard and now he will probably continue working, but at home instead. He’s the type of dad who doesn’t know how to sit down and do nothing. Really, there isn’t a lazy person in my family. They all work incredibly hard.

Even though everyone works hard, it was a relaxing weekend visit to Ohio. In fact, it was one of the most relaxing trips we’ve ever had going back home. We didn’t get to see everyone, but I suppose that’s next to impossible in 3 days. So, sorry to everyone we missed! Next time I hope!

Giraffe A Day For Kaitlyn K!

giraffe-a-day_-08

When we were in middle school, my best friend, Christine and I would do a lot of silly things. But our silly things were to make people happy – not cause trouble. We were pretty rebellious… One night, with a stack of hand written letters in hand, we randomly picked people’s addresses out of the phone book. We sent them letters that said things like “Have a great day!!” and “Don’t worry, be happy.”

If you’ve ready any previous blogs, then you may know my friend Kaitlyn moved to Chicago. All of us Jersey folk are still slightly heart-broken.

One night, while a small part of the Jersey family were together, Kaitlyn and I began a text conversation about giraffes.
